Website Design
- Website Name: The name of the site 'Distraction is My Defence' was inspired (read taken) from a lyric within the song 'phase' from the 2003 album by Ani diFranco. Its usage is to signify the recognition of the author that really this site is not only a distraction but a way to experiment and develop my 'distractions' such as interests in web technologies and web authoring techniques. In this way it is more 'self serving' than 'audience serving' in that it will be mainly used to experiment with styles, new technologies etc.
- Website Inspirations: The general layout idea was inspired by a published style on the css zen garden with input from my own interests. Additional inspiration came from fberriman's personal website and the local seafront as well as a friends personal obsession with pixelart.
